In June we posted about Meg Weidner’s Manhattan Cupcake Mission. Meg was so inspired by the success of this fun day that she decided to “keep the cupcakes baking to help put the MJFF out of business” and launched a nationwide Team Fox Cupcake Mission. Last Friday September 25th was the big day, nine cupcake cafes in nine different states across the country held a Team Fox Cupcake Mission to benefit MJFF! We want to thank Meg and the supporting cafes for being a part of this nationwide effort raising funds and awareness for Team Fox and The Michael J. Fox Foundation. And, there is one more Cupcake Mission being held this week – if you’re in Austin come out to the Wine House September 30, for a Spanish wine and cupcake pairing with Cupcake Bar to benefit Team Fox.
The Team Fox Cupcake Mission was created in memory of Meg’s grandfather, Opa, who she describes as having been an incurable optimist who had a great sense of humor, despite having Parkinson’s. She thinks that he would appreciate the humor of raising funds for a serious cause through something as fun as cupcakes!
Want to put on your own Cupcake Mission? Watch the below video that Meg put together following her first Cupcake Mission, the second half breaks down the easy steps you can take to host your own Cupcake Mission in your home town.
