“I became involved with Team Fox because my mom has Parkinson’s disease. Through Team Fox I’ve found an amazing community of support and commitment that is helping me come to terms with my own fears of an uncertain future.

With some trepidation I read Michael J. Fox’s first book Lucky Man. I don’t know what I expected to find in the book, but the complete doom and gloom of a PD diagnosis was not there. Sure there was uncertainty but there was also a profound sense of hope. Mike’s incredible drive is palpable in any speech he gives and most definitely in his books. His dedication and commitment alone fueled my own optimism and hope. Researching MJFF further, the demanding standards, efficiency and directed goal to put themselves out of business by finding a cure was gripping.

My final steps towards joining Team Fox were in November 2008. A small group of my friends together with some Team Fox staff, cheered our heads off for Team Foxrunners in the ING NYC Marathon. Screaming at the top of my lungs so that complete strangers could hear my support across the 6 lanes of Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn; that’s when it clicked for me.”
