Andrew Maguire, a freshman at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, raised almost $1,000 dollars for Team Fox last year when he ran the Big Lake Half-Marathon. Now, as a member of the First-Year Leaders Program, a branch of Vanderbilt Student Government that improves leadership skills through event planning, Andrew is organizing another event: A Pillow Fight Against Parkinson’s!
How will it work? Andrew and his group are asking student organizations to form teams of 10-12 people, and each team will pay a registration fee of $50 dollars that will be donated to MJFF.
If you live in the Nashville area, come out and support Andrew and his team. The event will be held at 6 p.m. on April 9 and will include music and food for those attending. Andrew promises that it will be “a stress-relieving way to aid in the fight against Parkinson’s.”

I live in Nashville and I am interested in attending the pillow fight. Is it just open to students organizations? How do I get more information?

Hey Jeff!
It’s great to see the community wants to get involved. While we are limiting the actual pillow fighting competition to student organizations, you can come to the event and donate just a few dollars for some food and fun. I will speak to my organization about possibly having community members participate in the all out brawl at the end of the event, so I’ll get back to you on that.
For more information or any questions anyone has, please email me at andrew.maguire@vanderbilt.edu
We’d love for the community to come see and share their stories!
