If you’ve been reading the comments section of this blog, the following post may not be news to you but we thought it deserved a special shout out.
On Friday, Phil Sosnow, who works in New York City, was dared by his colleagues to eat a one pound bag of Twizzlers in less than 10 minutes. Phil decided he would accept the challenge under one condition: whatever money was raised by his coworkers would go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. What an awesome idea!
As Phil says: “it was a rough 10 minutes” but he heroically finished the entire bag of licorice. As if we weren’t already impressed, Phil’s colleagues chipped in $800 to be donated to the Foundation!
We understand that this sort of extreme sport may not be for everyone but we are grateful to Phil and his colleagues for their generosity and for the fine example they set – showing us all that there really are countless ways to raise funds for Parkinson’s research.
Phil, you’re awesome, thank you for taking one for the team!
