We Asked and You Answered!

Thank you to everyone who provided insight into how best to fundraise in a tough economic climate. You came up with a great range of ideas and tactics and we hope that other Team Fox members will find them helpful. The discussion is always open so feel free to continue posting your thoughts.

Here are a fresh few ideas that came to us from Karen’s’ comments:

“The best fundraisers are where people have a FUN time in support of a worthy cause. Events don’t have to be elaborate or expensive to be successful! Consider hosting a pot-luck dinner at your home or low-cost cocktail party (Trader Joe’s wine for $2.99!) and on the e-vite suggest guests “pay what they wish.” When guests ask “what can I bring” take them up on it and say “a gift big or small for MJFF!” Its amazing how much folks will put in a hat or a basket in appreciation of a great night of fun company.

Staying at home on a Friday night? Consider offering a monthly or bi-monthly co-op babysitting or older kids “pizza and a movie night” for your neighbors to get out. Ask that their normal babysitting fees be given in form of a contribution to Team Fox!

Teenagers doing a summer car wash in a great location can quickly raise several hundred dollars for the cost of soap and water while showing leadership and volunteerism for college applications!

Keeping ‘event’ costs down by looking at possible opportunities that exist in your daily life is a win-win for PD research. Good luck and thanks so much for Team Fox events big and small!”
